Intermittent fasting with Dru Ayurveda

31 January, 2024
(Registration open till December 2025)

At this time of year, our thoughts often turn away from the excesses of Christmas, towards a reset - 'Dry January', Veganuary, dieting generally. And recently, there's been a lot of talk on social media platforms about intermittent fasting.

When and why is fasting helpful? What's the difference between fasting generally, and intermittent fasting? Are there some people who definitely would benefit from intermittent fasting - and others who really wouldn't? We'll be inviting you to think about your body type, and explaining how to gather together the information which will make your choices work better. The time of year is significant too, and your time of life - what suits someone of 20 may not work when you're 60.

This masterclass will help you to get the reset you need, and then apply the Ayurvedic principles about eating wisely so that you go on to be genuinely nourished by your food.

I am just working on the spine assignment. Apart from really enjoying all the research and information, I had to smile, because whilst writing about the spine and common back problems I have discomfort in my back (chronic) and sitting in one position, not as relaxed as I would like, is aggravating it. I have been taking frequent breaks, doing the Dru stretches, tri spinal release, marjariasana, bringing my knees up and rocking my spine which I love, standing forward bend and squats and when I finish studying each day I do a long relaxation. I have been drinking lots of water as well. I love the fact I have the tools from the Dru to help myself and have the chance to put it all into practice. It's all made such a difference to my back, neck and rest of my body. From a happy yoga student!

A big huge thumbs up here for the APD course. It totally blew my mind.

It was such a pleasure to be guided through postures that I thought I knew well, only to discover that they had even more power than I could ever have imagined possible, when you work through them on each Kosha level.

At times when I'm feeling stuck or uninspired / bored with in my practice, the tools I learnt on the APD course always, without fail, have the ability to out me back on track.

The course was so wonderfully presented, a brilliant mix of guided practice and space to explore for yourself.

I also came away from the experience a much more confident and skillful teacher, and have been able to facilitate my students in deepening there practice as a result.

I find myself eternally grateful to Andrew and the whole APD team for developing and refining this course, it's beyond doubt helped me to develop and refine my own practice.
