We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Jane Bennett, yoga teacher and counsellor from Adelaide, who has taken the bookings for our Adelaide workshops over the past two years and is the first point of contact for people in Adelaide interested in Dru teacher training. Jane loves talking to people about Dru.
“I think I’m filled with enthusiasm because I’m doing the teacher training course myself and it has transformed my life. During my recovery from chronic fatigue, Dru has lifted my energy levels, and improved my health in general, and relieved my scoliosis. I truly believe the course is more than teacher training. It gives you skills for all facets of life, and especially orients your talents and gifts with your life purpose.
When we are at our training modules it’s clear that our tutors and all the support teachers are always giving—giving their knowledge, their love, sharing & wanting to see each of us happy. A lot of receiving happens. It can’t help but make people feel validated. And it’s from that place of fullness that I’m really happy to give something back.
I originally thought, what can I do to help from Adelaide? The work that I do taking bookings for workshops and enquiries about teacher training is great because I can do it at home at my own computer and fit it in at times that suit me. And I feel connected to the bigger network of Dru, like a little cog in a lovely, bright, shining wheel.”
Mouli MacKenzie
We’ve loved having Dru Yoga teacher Mouli MacKenzie join us this summer at our North Wales centre, Snowdonia Mountain Lodge, where she’s been using her considerable information design skills to the fullest.
“It’s very rewarding to work alongside such a creative and inspired group, on projects which we know are making a real difference to people’s lives. I’m experiencing a great feeling of connectedness—sharing ideas and ideals, contributing and participating, combining professional skills with what I am most passionate about— Dru Yoga—and having great fun too!”
Mouli’s been working closely with our graphics team creating publications which we hope will inspire people the world over.
Wendy Faulknall
We all know it’s not easy giving up that secure end-of-month wage packet to launch yourself into the unknown—but that’s exactly what ‘Sheffield’s voice of yoga’ Dru Yoga teacher Wendy Faulknall has done. Here she explains how...
‘Although I was very happy with my job as an administrator in the NHS, my
dream for many years was to start my own business in the health field. The
Dru Yoga teacher training course both gave me the confidence to pursue this goal and enhanced the skills I needed to make it work.
I felt so passionate about running a yoga company that I put aside any lingering financial worries and took the leap, creating ‘Yoga for Your Health’ in Sheffield (www.yogaforyourhealth.co.uk). Part of my preparation was to research what people wanted, so I took to the streets of Sheffield, notebook in hand. What I discovered was a tremendous need for ways to combat stress, so I started up my first yoga class with this in mind.
I started with only six students, which didn’t bring in much money, of course, but it did attract the attention of a nearby leisure centre who offered to promote my classes and provide a really good venue. Suddenly everything
took off.
I now do regular slots on Radio Sheffield, letting people know about the benefits of Dru Yoga. This spread the word so effectively that I made it a
family affair and soon roped in my husband Keith to help handle the response!
His skill as a graphic designer helps me to market and promote everything I do. It’s hard work but my great love and enthusiasm for Dru Yoga really helps me to keep on providing what I truly believe is a great service to the community.
