World Peace Flame
Dru supports a number of charities. The World Peace Flame is an eternal flame which has, to date, inspired millions of people from all over the world to believe that they as individuals do make a difference. The flame champions values such as inner strength, determination and humility in resolving conflict of any sort. Political and religious leaders alike, people from all walks of life, from every nation, religion and social standing have lit the World Peace Flame and use it as a means of creating bridges and promoting peace. This belief that humble individual effort can change the world as a whole is why we support the World Peace Flame Foundation so strongly.
The World Peace Flame was created in July 1999 when seven living flames, lit by peacemakers on five continents of the world, were flown across the oceans by military air forces and commercial airlines and united into one eternal Flame.

The World Peace Flame is a charity based in the Netherlands that exists to promote peace at all levels of society. The World Peace Flame is a symbol of peace, unity, freedom and celebration. We believe in the essential freedom of the human spirit to create peace at any time under any circumstances – a view endorsed by the millions of people who have lit The World Peace Flame as a symbol of this dream.
The World Peace Flame is dedicated to achieving peace through a process of education and the practical support of grassroots peace initiatives. We aim to inspire people everywhere that the individual plays a crucial role in creating peace, at every level. We are an independent charitable organisation based in The Netherlands.
Our dream is as simple as it is ambitious: to light an eternally burning World Peace Flame in every major city or decision-making centre in the world. It is a dream we’ve cherished since 1999 when we created our first Flames of Peace on five continents around the world. We then flew each flame to Wales and combined them to create the World Peace Flame. This unique event showed an extraordinary level of goodwill and generosity on the part of all participants, including the military and commercial airlines that carried the flames to the United Kingdom.
Today World Peace Flames burn in thousands of homes, schools, workplaces, hospitals and places of worship around the world. The number of World Peace Flames continues to grow as we present international decision makers with flames, as well as installing flames in monuments in major cities worldwide.
