Masterclass - Gut Health, Nourish Your Second Brain - 9 Feb 2022
Why is gut health so important? 60% of your immune system lies within your gut! Get this part right and you will feel physically and mentally clear, alert, have great memory and have bags of energy!
Why is the gut called the ‘second brain’?
Because the enteric nervous system relies on the same type of neurons and neurotransmitters that are found in the central nervous system, some medical experts call it our ‘second brain’. This means that when you are worried and anxious, it affects your gut and transversely, if you eat too many foods that lack nutrient value such as fast foods, leftovers, those with high sugar content, it will affect the way you think!
Agni and Ama
Learn about why your digestive fire (agni) is key to health and well-being. Ama is ‘undigested food’ that is a causative factor of many of today’s health issues, from the common cold to heart conditions, fatigue, and some auto-immune conditions.
This session will help you understand how to super-charge the gut in simple ways using the Ayurveda five pathways. We will explore the power of specific movement, foods, supplements, therapies and relevant lifestyle approaches that will balance your specific body type (dosha).
Join the experts for an hour of power that will radically transform the way you eat and the way you think!
If you are a member of the Dru Professional Network you will be able to accrue two CPD hours for attendance at this masterclass. Attendees from other yoga schools will need to check individually for their own CPD credits.

Dru Ayurveda & Yoga workshop:- A thoroughly enjoyable day, enlightening me to how I can work on my health and happiness with minimal effort - great for a kapha type!
I was really delighted to be the recipient of the most wonderful Ayurveda massage while staying at the Lodge. I had travelled for hours from the north-east of Scotland, so my body was tired and I felt very ungrounded. Sandra gave me the most nurturing massage, which allowed me to rest very deeply and to sleep soundly afterwards. It was a little bit of heaven given by a very caring and attentive therapist. The room and the towels were warm and cosy and the smell of the oils divine. I felt very balanced and peaceful the next day. Thank you.
Thank you so much to you and Bob and Imogen and of course Keith {Dru Yoga & Ayurveda Cookery workshop}. I am looking forward to trying some of his recipes from his book.
I thought it was a great course. A lovely combination, especially as Keith related the doshas to different personality and behavioural traits, and that these were linked with the relevant balancing yoga sequence in the afternoon.
